Our strategy for ensuring that we can provide the most appropriate care in the most
appropriate location is to operate patient local centres for face to face consultations
with a clinician. This ensures that patients can visit convenient sites for accessing
healthcare.
Although patients will normally be directed to the most appropriate centres according
to their needs after speaking to us, Derbyshire Health United
(DHU) also operate a service model where patients may access the service directly
by presenting at an Urgent Care Walk-in Centre. If this occurs the patient will
be triaged by staff at the centre and receive treatment or self care advice as appropriate.
