Derbyshire Health United are members of the Derbyshire
Emergency Planning Forum. This group brings together all the organisations who will
be involved in responding to an emergency that may occur in Derbyshire. DHU works
with the County and City Councils, local hospitals and the East Midlands Ambulance
Service with all other parts of the local NHS, the Police and voluntary organisations.
Plans are developed and tested to ensure that if a major emergency occurs that DHU
are able to contribute to keeping services running and ensuring local people are
cared for appropriately.
In 2009, during the Swine Flu Pandemic, DHU set up an emergency call centre which
ensured local people were able to get supplies of anti-viral drugs.
