Our main services are to provide out of hours care to patients when their own General
Practitioner (GP) practice is closed. This is done by offering telephone advice,
triage and face to face consultations in a range of primary care centres throughout
the county or by consulting with patients in their own homes.
This covers a patient population of around 960,000 patients registered across approximately
133 GP practices.
We are also commissioned by NHS Derbyshire County
to provide healthcare services to the inmates to the two local prisons -
HMP Foston Hall and HMP Sudbury. At
both these prisons DHU look after prisoners healthcare needs with a team of doctors,
nurses and support staff.
